Adoxusian

Adoxusian is an early prototype arcade action game of a rolling, side scrolling space prison break, where the critters you free along the way give you power ups as long as they're with you. Get to the exit!

The real shmup is the friends you make along the way!

HOW TO PLAY

The world scrolls constantly by to the right

Steer and avoid collision 

- Keyboard WASD or Controller Left Stick or Left D-Pad

You control the scroll speed 

- Middle mouse button or Controller right stick

Free captive critters by shooting whatever they're locked to 

- Left Mouse Button or Controller button face button or trigger

Freed critters follow you and provide power ups

Powerups are automatically activated, and automatically lost

Keep everyone safe!

Get to the exit safely.

Its a prototype! What does that mean?

The core game play works consistently on a couple test boxes.

Its needs:

-  lots of playtesting from lots of people for feedback on the core design

- better level design

- more variety in all types of ships

- better visual "readability", maybe a complete change in visual design

- audio needs to be built out. All the sounds were made by the developer in Bitwig, but the sound design and implementation is inconsistent and incomplete. Ran out of time!

- lots of performance improvement. It works fine most of the game on both a GTX1080 laptop and an RTX2080Ti desktop, but the framerate drops hard when the screen gets crowded

- lots of polish
